Adam and Eve: The Story of Human Consciousness

by Joshua Tilghman on March 29, 2012

Unfolding of the Mind

For well over a thousand years, mainstream Christianity has taught that the creation of Adam and Eve and their subsequent expulsion from the Garden of Eden is literal history. While I will say it is a fantastic picture of how man came to this earth, I will also say that this story was never meant to be literal. In fact, to teach it in this way greatly diminishes the spiritual truth the author originally intended. But when this story is understood correctly, it unlocks the key to helping us live a full, abundant life, which is the way life was intended to be!

Getting right to the point, the story of Adam and Eve is about the human mind. More specifically, it is about a mind that has become fractured and is therefore no longer whole. Before explaining this, I want you to make a mental note of something which will become relevant at the end of this discussion. Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, which means “place of the skull”. In an esoteric sense, this is about the mind, and the battle is between the ears! Liberation and salvation come when we crucify the ego (through the waking conscious) and heal the mind.

In the literal story, God placed Adam in the Garden. In the beginning, Adam was alone; Eve had not been separated from him. Adam was therefore whole. This is representative of the conscious and subconscious working in perfect unity and harmony, which is also reflected by the paradise (Garden of Eden) in which Adam dwelled. In this state of unity consciousness, Adam was ONE with God. As the story continues, we learn that God placed Adam in a deep sleep (the realm of forgetfulness and consciousness fracture) and Eve was created.  In this new state of being, Adam represents the waking conscious of mankind and Eve represents the subconscious. When the conscious and subconscious are no longer in unity, the state of Paradise (inner joy and peace) can no longer be maintained because the ego will take control. Thus the fall! And of course the literal story presents us with this in the form of expulsion from the Garden. As the story goes, Eve is tempted by the serpent or Satan (ego), and because the ego took over the driver’s seat of man’s soul, Paradise lost becomes man’s reality. This is also spiritual death. And spiritual death = separation from God.

As we stated earlier, Adam represents man’s waking conscious and ego, and Eve represents the subconscious. Ordinary consciousness is represented by the male aspect (Adam) because consciousness has the power to impregnate the subconscious (Eve) to produce the physical reality we experience. The subconscious, or female aspect (Eve), is the power of birthing and creating on the physical plane. This is where the concept of “Mother Earth” comes from. It has nothing to do with a literal female deity in its original understanding. It is only an explanation of consciousness, just like the story of Adam and Eve. Remember, Eve is the “mother of all living”. In other words, our subconscious is the mother that births our reality. This is also why the Bible states that man will RULE over the woman after the expulsion from the Garden. This is not to be taken literally. As it now stands, your conscious self rules over the subconscious. In other words, your conscious thought (male aspect) impregnates the subconscious (female aspect) with the seed of your waking consciousness. If your conscious self dwells on negativity, your subconscious, which is the real birthing/creation powerhouse, will produce that effect for you. And negativity becomes your reality! Remember, the battle is between the ears! It’s all about the mind.

To be whole again, we need to be renew our minds in Christ consciousness, like the Apostle Paul tells us. This is the born again experience. As Paul states in Galatians, “…and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…” (Gal. 2:20).

So how was this accomplished in Paul? Notice how he stated, “…it is no longer I who lives…” What is the I Paul is referring to? It was his waking conscious and ego.

The ego wants to stay alive. That’s its job. The ego fears its own dissolution. In fact, ALL fear is rooted in ego.

As stated many places elsewhere on this blog, meditation helps to dissolve the ego, and, over time, the conscious and the subconscious began to work in unity. This is what Christ consciousness is. Some call it the “super consciousness”. The name doesn’t matter. It’s the outcome that matters.

Now that we have discussed the true understanding of the Adam and Eve story, I feel it is important state that man was never meant to RULE over or to dominate a woman. That’s just pure ego! But when the story of Adam and Eve is taken literally, people are taught that this is God’s will. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We must be careful to interpret the Bible correctly or the world becomes dysfunctional. To interpret Bible stories such as Adam and Eve literally creates religion. This is what Jesus was trying to combat.

For those of you who may be struggling with my take on the whether or not the scriptures are literal, I completely understand. I was taught since I was a little boy that the Bible was the inerrant word of God. I used to read up on the latest creation science news to prove to others that man was created six thousand years ago and placed in a literal Garden of Eden. It was as if I had to PROVE the Bible because deep down inside I knew there was something missing from the big picture, and if I could prove the Bible was inerrant to my own self, I could cover up the missing component. So proving the Bible to be the inerrant word of God was sort of my mission. But through that mission I realized that is was nothing more than a big ego trip, and I was only fooling myself. Now I don’t have to struggle with questions like where Cain got his wife in the land of Nod unless it was his sister—yuck! That’s not what the scripture is about. The scripture is about spirit, not history. If we all realized this, wars would stop. People could live in peace. I also truly believe people would then be able to see the unity that truly runs like a current beneath all the major world religions.

I hope this article has helped you see the true spirit of the scripture where Adam and Eve are concerned. If so, and you think this could help someone else, spread the love with social media!

Joshua, The “Word” in literal interpretation Kills. The Spirit of the “Word” nurtures life.
The Male element is the “Letter” or literal and the Feminine is the Spirit that adds life.
The negative Male to the Positive Female is not separate but mutual opposition existing in the same “Oneness”. I am not saying anything that differs from what you have explained. It’s always good for me to repeat things in order to see in writing where processing within has brought me.

Minus and division in some sort of Harmony with Addition and Multiplication. The website with Bill Donahue on his YouTube channel is a where I have been able to place this into perspective. It’s always nice to find open minded people .

Keith, so true. and Bill Donahue does have some great stuff. A very knowledgeable and intuitive person!

Good job Joshua. I’m happy to see people are waking up. I been on this awakening journey for a few 6 months and still learning. Thank you so much.

You’re on the beam, Josh!

To your point of “the unity that truly runs like a current beneath all the major world religions,” check out the Bahai Faith ( If one is truly seeking real, practical spiritual guidance, so desperately needed in the world today, it may be found here.

There is one God. There is one mankind.

I am going to go one step farther……. We are all one and we are all God….. or God is part of all of us.

This is considered a non-duality spirituality…. and also the one which I study. I have been reading and following, “A Course in Miracles”, which is a spirituality from the heart. One you ‘feel’. This type of spirituality is a lot about forgiveness. I think all non-duality spiritualities are wonderful and I feel a lot of peace by studying.

WoW! I embarked on reading the Bible this year. Today being the first day, this article came to me as I searched for the meaning of the Tree of Concsience, while reading Genesis 1, 1&2.

Geoffrey January 22, 2016 at 9:37 pm

I was brought up in Catholic and i always felt there was something a miss the way the focus is to go to heaven after death or hell, depending how one has lived his/her life on earth.

Wow! your interpretation brings life to the bible writings.

Now my questions: How did you get here, i mean to these apt interpretations? Do you accept students who may wish to study under you? Have you written a book?

Kindly copy your answers to my personal email so that i promptly get them.

alex June 20, 2016 at 2:44 pm

I would recommend that you read Neville Goddart’s Books. They say the same in more depth if thats what you are looking for. Don’t look for a master, as that will stop you getting anywhere. Remember you are your own master.

Bonnie February 25, 2017 at 1:06 pm

Thomas Troward’s Bible Mystery and Meaning is also very interesting and helpful.

I grew up Assembly of God, but I also knew there was more to it than what was being taught. I ended up finding Edgar Cayce and your articles seem to correspond with those at the A.R.E.

As for the bible, I also knew there had to be more to it. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Lee, indeed!

Great intellectual and deep explanation for Adam and Eve story.
I also came across an old writing in a foreign language where it explains :
“Adam represents the mind and Eve represents the soul, hence the birth of mankind”
Fascinating stuff

Steve Berg April 1, 2016 at 2:49 am

In 1993/4 I headed a four man team of roofing lead (metal) workers laying, 140 tonne of sheet lead to the lower roof slopes of the Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem.
Shortly after I ‘woke’.

I didn’t read all of the above, I don’t have time, I have a tenuous connection to the net (I’m in India just now, long story…) But yeah, I actually have the memories of Adam now post wake. I touched God (the infinite) and the problem therein is actually VERY simple. You become your own creator, which means what? That you are a mere figment of your own imagination, this kicks in what I call the core paradox of self creation, (which is why we have ‘God’, A remote entity to carry us).
Every ‘thing’ that stabilised you was based on reality, the mechanics of the reflected reality you were held within. The separation between us and our staunch reflected reality is what stabilises us, as in that if it bends, then so do we, seen in mental illness hallucinations etc.
So, symbolically speaking, when the ever re-membering mind remembers the truth of oneness ‘bites the apple to become as God’. That kicks in the paradox which destabilises the ‘linear’ aspect of the system (Us), and then the only way to restabilising, is to rid the one mind of the poison, symbolically the mind of Adam at that point. With the poison being the ‘acute’ knowledge of oneness, so the one ‘linear’ mind, has to be wiped clean, which is basically a system reboot ‘The fall’. In order to quarantine the paradox virus. This then sees cycles of creation with the commutator (that switches polarity from total recall to total sleep), being the paradox, where pos and neg touch, seeing the mind for all intents and purposes exploding (symbolic big bang), severing all connections, so that it can then slowly re-member, which is the stability, creating the linear journey with point and purpose….. do you see?
So, that’s the hub of the cycle of creation, but then there is a massive story overlaid upon that simple cycle.
We are now on the re-membering phase about to wake a level, which is why I’m in India…

You guys can figure the rest out, we are about to heal, some will try to stop this, so it’s a move, which is a symbolic way for us to understand what we are and experience consciousness…..

It’s a bitter pill, but all of this we do, doesn’t really amount to anything, the journey really is the destination, the remembrance is all we have, on total recall we reboot….. And the even bitterer pill that it’s all just from one perspective ‘Show biz’, a something to do and be. Without the movie, we are all just out of work actors ETERNALLY!!!!

Most of the knowledge appearing on the net now is kinda true, but it’s a puzzle….. foggy but clearing the more puzzle pieces we have. I know the basic schematic but I have no idea of the linear story line, how it happens, which is future and so void to us anyhow so that we can live it, well re-live it, over and over….

Later guys…. Steve

Joshua Tilghman April 5, 2016 at 1:51 pm

I understand your busy schedule. No worries. And about your commentary on truth and reality…I have also considered this possibility. That is why I sometimes mention on the site that the process of the fall is automatic rather than a choice in order to grow. However, even we also have to consider the possibility that God, or the concept of God, is ever evolving and growing, and is only omnipotent in the sense of the experience it has up until now. It does get complicated with our finite minds, doesn’t it?

Jared April 4, 2016 at 3:43 pm

I would have liked more cited examples within Genesis so I can look up your claims. I don’t know Genesis that well and citations of what you’re talking about would have been tremendously helpful.

Cool beans!

Jake April 13, 2016 at 9:59 pm

Hi Joshua,
How can we interpret GOD putting ADAM to sleep? Why would God (Oneness) want Adam to be asleep (hallucinating separation from God/Oneness). It would make more sense if Adam had fallen asleep on his own accord/free will, therefore choosing separation over the consciousness of oneness (‘original sin’). How can we explain this? Thank you

Joshua Tilghman April 17, 2016 at 11:04 am

Jake, sleep is symbolic of no understanding of spiritual enlightenment. Remember, the story isn’t literal, so God never actually put Adam to sleep.

Joey April 29, 2016 at 4:08 pm

Joshua your blog posts have lead me on an amaizing awakening of my early suspicions. Thank you.

I Know Nothing, but I’d like to share my thoughts.

The reason none of the holy books should be taken as literal historical facts, is because they are all plagerized and stolen and rewritten from the original scriptures of the Ancient Kemet and Kush civilization which were actually black Afrikaans. Not the Europeans who you see in the movies and books who portray to be the origional Egyptians. (It wasn’t called Egypt until the Greeks took over)

All of the ancient writings in the pyramids, tombs, and structural walls, when translated accurately, will give us the truth. Has it come to any suprise why the pyramids and structures are still there? Any idea why the noses on some of the human face statues have been deliberately knocked off?

Big government, corporations, and world rulers already know this and use the very same symbols from those ancient writings in their own structures and company logos and secret societies. (The origional term for those writings are called “Mdw Ntchr” Not Hieroglyph’s which again is a Greek word)

This isn’t about race by the way. I’m just exposing the fact that all religions were created from the original scriptures of Ancient Kemet which existed thousands of years before Christianity.

However, when the holy books are interpreted how they were originally meant to be, you will seek out hidden wisdom.

Not one single bone or fossil has been discover from any one who supposedly existed in the Bible because the Bible is merely a psychological drama that exists in man. The fall was a deliberate act.

Has anyone done research on who King James was? This was another Red Flag which prompted me to dig deeper. A homosexual who murdered his own mother that said his personally sponsored Bible was the one book that should control the world.

The letter J didn’t exist 2000 yrs ago did it?

Thank you Joshua. Your blogs are very very enlightening and have helped me tremendously through my spiritual journey.

Joshua Tilghman May 1, 2016 at 9:03 pm

Thanks for sharing, Joey. Much of scripture is taken directly from Egyptian ideas. ISRAEL = IS – RA – EL. Doing a study on that alone is fascinating.

who June 28, 2016 at 7:25 am

That is simply not true. Israel means “one that struggled with God” and it’s the name that Jacob received when he was in Canaan, way before he went to Egypt. Just because there are phonetic similarities between names or syllables, that doesn’t prove anything. There are no proves that Hebrews “stole” anything from Egypt. They actually reinvented themselves and also the world through them.
Please read “A History of the Jews Paperback by Paul Johnson” for details.

fRED June 10, 2016 at 8:12 am

Joey, if it’s not about race then why do you claim that the Kemets (Ancient Egyptians) were black? That’s as ridiculous as claiming that the Jews are black, just because they live in the Middle East! We are writing in English here, not Hieroglyphic or Hieratic, and both of those words are English so are suitable words for describing such.

Donald April 24, 2016 at 11:34 pm

I think another way of looking at it is the separation of the concience from the conscious mind. The elohim said that man could know good AND evil….not good FROM evil….this is important. Also the greek version uses the word gnosis as in experiential knowledge. So, man could do evil and live with it by not having to face guilt by throwing his conscience into his subconsious through out of sight, out of mind, or through rationalization….. So man could know evil and live with it. I believe that when we die, the conscience and conscious mind get bound together again….this is hell. This is where you cannot run or hide from the guilt of everything we’ve done….and it’ll burn….. So, the Christ consiousness you mention is really, facing your conscience and bringing it to the foreground……
…..just a theory 🙂

Joshua Tilghman May 1, 2016 at 9:03 pm

Thanks for your comments, Donald. Interesting thoughts.

George May 5, 2016 at 1:16 am

Ive spent the last year or so beginning to see the meanings behind scripture. Initially suprised i saw the meanings without losing myself in the dogma and literal images of the story. Historically i’d been lost in an angry attempt to disprove anything not mainstream and ‘sciencey’, completely missing the allegorical meanings in scriptures and generally in life! (The other side of the coin from what you’ve described doing from a religous perspective, trying to prove them right but the effect is the same with regards to missing the meaning entirely!) Ive known many of these stories general ideas but your interpretation smooths that out and i relate to it completely. Thank you.

Likafi May 5, 2016 at 10:33 am

God save us from these misinterpretations. The word is so simple and requires no breaking as when it come to male and female. We just beat our imaginations and the things brought forth by man has made us to shift completely from the centered position of the realness of the word. the wisdom which is hidden in the word can never be the wisdom brought from that word by men in any way. All what we see and we try to break into its understanding is in the word. And we all operate by the word. Looking deep into the word to understand it will forever be difficult to man.
But i love the narrations. interesting. Just shows how man can for ever be limited in all its doing. But we have been given the power not to be limited.
we can talk more if you wish on my address.

The account of creation is the creation of all things. Most will read scripture and only take it one way. Whether it be literal, spiritual, ect. Scripture, however shallow or deep one wants to dive, is the same through any depth one can percieve. It’s the same physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, ect. The Father cannot error. As stated in this article, the account of creation is pertaining to conscious and subconscious. Everything is merely a reflection of light for the eye to perceive, meaning everything is merely a symbol for the interpretation of the mind of the light it receives. No light actually enters the eyes, nor does light ever reach the mind, therefor if the light that is in you be darkness, how great is this darkness. Literally speaking creation is the account of all things. For all things must enter through the way in which the law is written.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2)
This refers to the formless void and darkness of the womb. The Father calls forth all things out of the darkness of the womb of creation. The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters: this is the Spirit entering into the womb. For without the Spirit of Life no Life could be.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
This is you. This is who you are. The first word spoken by The Father.
The Light of Gods Glory

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (Ephesians 1:4)

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)

Like wise all of the above are also symbolical of conscious and subconscious. Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, It matters not what side you approach Truth,

And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. (Revelation 21:16)
Truth measures the same in all directions. It only ever unfolds and only ever grows.
Truth is Jesus Christ.
And only Truth can set you free.
However limited one may interpret scripture, remember this

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:6)
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:7)
Jesus Christ is the Only Wisdom, The Only Power, The Only Way, The Only Truth, The Only Life, The Only Love, The Only Light.
He is All and In All. Hear oh Israel the Lord thy God is One. Let us return now to the stillness.

Jacquie August 2, 2016 at 8:59 pm

I can understand this very well as I have studied esoteric knowledge in the past.
It does make a lot of sense.
However, the thing that puzzles me is how in the world are people supposed to wake up to this knowledge? There are so many people that are illiterate or barely able to read. The Bible has been around for thousands of years and I’m pretty sure almost all who did read it, did not read it with that understanding. Why would something be created with such difficult hidden meanings? People live their lives not knowing even an ounce of this information. It’s very sad and that is why I can’t come to complete terms with this being the true meaning behind the Bible.
Thank you.

Joshua Tilghman August 5, 2016 at 10:23 am

I understand your concerns. The scriptures were never written for the masses specifically, although more and more through technology are starting to get it. And that’s a good thing!

melonie brown March 20, 2017 at 9:57 pm

Look up the “mystery schools’ this knowledge was only for the elite.

Jeremy Holland December 17, 2016 at 4:36 pm

JT, IT, YT. Loving your body of work and to echo that, the last six years of my life have been spent largely in climbing out of the literal we seem to be born into, and peering down from the abode of the Spirit which needs no further commentary.

It is fascinating to excavate through the illiteracy, propaganda, misogyny, and outright lies which at a minimum, the last 2000 years has produced (especially in the attack of the gnostic/pagan arts, sciences, and epics of which a good bulk of the stories that comprise the Bible were drawn from and then turned on and burned as if to rid the “new faith” of any evidence of ties to the original source…The raising of Lazarus comes to mind, or more originally El-Ausar-us)

Once one becomes disciplined in these studies, contemplating and allowing the universals, principles, and archetypes to dance around and bump into each other, the true holding firm in form and function and the false falling away in parts and pieces a whole new world of wisdom, wonder, and willingness appear.

Comparative Religion, Comparative Mythology, amongst other “key’s” have been instrumental in pointing to the straight and narrow way which for some insane reason has been twerked, bent, potholed, and hung with a literal “road closed” sign redirecting the masses to wandering around in a broken circle of insanity (un-whole-ness)

Thankfully, yourself, myself, and others self’s have stopped following that detour and instead opted for the Tour de Force!

Life, Light, and Love

Joshua Tilghman March 1, 2017 at 9:42 pm

Thank you for your comment, Jeremy. Much appreciated!

Bruce December 29, 2016 at 4:10 pm

What if scripture is both? What if its both historical and esoteric? What if the God of all creation also created the events documented in the Bible for the purpose of conveying to us the deeper esoteric meanings you speak of. To see the Bible purely in esoteric terms can lead to just an incomplete view of what the Creator is trying to tell us as seeing the Bible in a purely historical/literal sense. I have trained in one of the more well known interdenominational seminaries in the world. I have spent my professional career in the sciences, but of late have entered this new adventure into natural therapeutics and the nature of the human self by working with the subtle energies, the chakras and connecting with another in spirit. Many of the questions I had in Seminary could not be answered without looking into the esoteric aspects of the Bible of which I could not access through traditional scholarship until my entry into the natural therapeutics world. However, much of what is in the Bible has been validated historically and scientifically which tells me that the Bible is both. It is historical with literal meanings as well as it is esoteric with deeper spiritual truths about the nature of God and the nature of humankind. When we merge the two together, i.e. God acting in the physical, in history with the esoteric with the spiritual then we discover more fully the nature of our Creator and the path our Creator wants us to take. Its God’s work and revelation that makes a call on our hearts to respond to begin this redemptive work of communion with the Divine. God knocks at the door, and we open. Its only until those two very actions take place can the relationship begin. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this. I am happy to have found your website. I have lots of reading to do.

Joshua Tilghman March 1, 2017 at 9:33 pm

Thanks for your honesty. In some respects, I believe it IS both. But the spiritual understanding and significance is the bigger picture. What would the historical perspective truly add?

cayce2015 June 28, 2017 at 10:19 am

Hi Allen. I agree. I feel that something in this article doesn’t quite sit right with me – although it has started an intellectual discussion, i fear the truth has been twisted and distorted. The message in the bible is very simple. Yes, there is only one god but there is only one path to god and that is through his son, jesus christ – this is what the entire bible is about. All the events that happened in the bible are literal, historical events that all happened to bring about the birth, death and resurection of jesus christ. Jesus christ will return again and those of us who are wrapped up in empty human philosophy and worldly wisdom will be thrown into the lake of fire – yes, the bible is also symbolic but i think we try to over analyse and intellectualise the symbolism to our own demise. In the end, the only thing that really matters – wether we think adam and eve represent conscious thought and subconscious thought or not – is jesus christ. He is the way and the truth and the life and no one goes to the father except through him. Isiah 55:8-11 – gods thoughts and ways are higher than ours. We can break the bible down into little pieces all we want for our own understanding but his purpose will stand!

Mesfin KA January 11, 2017 at 9:53 pm

Very splendid enlightenment and true meaning of Adam and Eve! The deep secret of the revelation meaning of Bible is what you unveiled it. God bless you. I benefited a lot from the blog. It is amazing. For centuries and decades, we have been dragged by religious teaching missing the core point and the important meaning. I have one question for you, hopefully, you will shed light for me. In Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. These are the spirits because God is spirit and they are created in His image and likeness. Does that mean that God created the higher and the lower mind together to operate in harmony or I need few light. Thank you so much!

It is amazing and miracle when the Holy Spirit teaches truth. I agree with this, and it confirms my study. Makes so much more sense then the natural way of trying to understand it. Thank you.

Hi Josh,
Thank you so much for this blog! I discovered it after reading an article from scientific American about a neuronal mouse study where they discovered a neuron cluster on mouse brains that resembled a “crown of thorns” that they believe to be the seat of consciousness. I’ve always been interested in symbology and googled “crown of thorns consciousness”, and your article about the secret symbolism in the Bible came up and whoa, there was more than one profound moment as I read it. I feel like I have been searching for this information my whole life! I’m a big questioner too and remember always questioning my mother about her blind faith. In my heart of hearts, I always knew that all paths lead to the same place. ❤️ Thank you so much for your work!

Hello Joshua. A few days ago the knowledge was revealed to me that the birth of Jesus is also a perfect example of an allegory. A spirit/angel, advised Mary that she was a chosen vessel…, and was to be blessed with a son. About nine months later…, she gave birth to Jesus…,without benefit of fertilization…, as is the common practice required for reproduction. That seems to be the same process that is utilized for the creation of anything…, by man or woman. An idea becomes implanted by some miraculous mental method…, and our minds is overcome with that creative idea…, until it is imagined into reality. I am persuaded that we live in a world that was created partly by…, and at the same time for us.., to aid us in returning to the Father…, and when we return we will be in the person of Jesus…, and he will be fulfilling who we are also. There goes my imagination again…, hope that thought is not too “new agey” for anyone. God Bless.
p.s. Actually I love my imagination…, I am sure God is in it.

As this relates to allegory, I am in complete agreement.

Hello, Joshua, although short, this is a very well-explained psychological meaning of the story of Adam and Eve. When I was a young boy, my mother never missed to bring me to church during Sundays. However, I feel something not right and have questions about the Bible. Unfortunately, anytime I asked something about the Bible, the answers I got were all literal.

Until one day, during high school, we were taught about the Bible being historical and the people mentioned in it were real individuals who lived in time and space.

Later in life…approximately when I was in my 30’s, I started my quest again in finding the meaning of the Bible. Although I haven’t touched that much, the things I’ve learned lifted my consciousness to a higher level.

The first book that lead me to awaken to truth is a classic book by Neville Goddard entitled Feeling is the Secret, and it lead me to his another book Faith is your Fortune. Both books are freely available online and they’re my catalyst to exploring more about man’s consciousness.

Thanks Joshua! This is the 3rd time reading this article and I have been seeking esoteric truth for several years One big question keeps popping up for me is , why would God put Adam into a deep sleep of forgettfulness? Is it for the reason to experience itself in all the trillions of experiences? I would so much appreciate your take on this. Keep up the great work! Blessings.

Joshua..It’s me again. So why would God put Adam into a deep state of forgetfullness and create Eve when they were already united as one in harmony and bliss, only to create seperation and the fall from unity and perfection only to be cast into the hell of the ego?
Love the deep thinking!

True, but we always reinvent ourselves from former ideas and philosophies. There is no stealing, because no one owns them.
