I have had many requests for a post on the topic of homosexuality and the Bible. Most have been from people asking for an esoteric perspective. I got the impression that these requests were from straight persons trying to understand how this lifestyle fits in from a spiritual standpoint. Noah Gets Drunk!?
Like me, maybe you’ve wondered why the “righteous” Noah gets drunk after the flood. Genesis 9:20-21 states:
“And Noah began to be a husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.”
Hmm…a naked, drunk Noah? Resembles more of the morning-after scene from a frat party rather than a righteous servant. Sodom and Gomorrah: X-Rated Literature, or Esoteric Wisdom?
The Biblical destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah has been the subject of much controversy. Theories about its inspiration abound. Everything from earthquakes, meteorites, and volcanoes are argued as plausible explanations. On the other end of the spectrum, fundamentalists insist that the story is a literal account.
Can we ever know the truth about this narrative?
The truth eventually becomes obvious to those seeking to understand the esoteric nature of the Bible.
