The Conclusion of Jesus, The Sun, and the Zodiac

by Joshua Tilghman on September 12, 2012

This blog post will finally wrap up our conclusion of Jesus, the sun, and the Zodiac. Please read my former three blog post if you haven’t already as they will properly prepare you for this one.

We have already discussed how Jesus’ ministry is a personification of the sun’s travels through 6 of the zodiacal signs. Today we are going to finish with the other 6. Hopefully the story of Jesus will make much more sense when you are through with this last and final post of the series.

Pisces (The Fish)

Shortly after the sun is in Aquarius, it moves into the zodiacal sign of Pisces. Pisces is symbolized by two fish. Thus we would expect to see Jesus’ ministry representing something to do with two fish. This is exactly the case, for shortly after John’s baptism (Aquarius the Water Bearer), Jesus finds two disciples, Simon and Andrew, who are fisherman.

“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers” (Matthew 4:18).

Another interesting point to be made here is the Greek meaning of “Galilee;” Strong’s Concordance states that it means the “heathen circle.” If you remember my first post on the Zodiac and the Bible, I showed you how Job and Psalms mentions scriptures that show God told his story in the stars by the “circle” of the Zodiac.

You should also note that the Pope wears a mitre, which is in the shape of a fish, correlating to Pisces.

Overall Pisces, one of the three water signs, represents purity and self sacrifice. Jesus certainly represents both, and since the sun and Jesus both represent the human soul on its journey to enlightenment, they show us that we are meant to become pure from the defilement of the ego. Self sacrifice, or the act of sacrificing our own egos, is the game here.

If you look at the life of Simon Peter, one of the two fish that Jesus found at the beginning of his ministry, you’ll notice that he is always struggling with the ego. He denies Jesus (the egoless) and Jesus even had to tell him “Get thee behind me, Satan.” Satan is also the ego in us, and Jesus was telling Peter that his ego was trying to block the true self from the expression of love (which the true self is).

Finally, we should also note that the two fish in the sign of Pisces are swimming in opposite directions of one another. Again, the ego is always at odds with the true self. But once the sign is completed by the sun (and Jesus’ ministry), we know the ego can finally be completely sacrificed.

Aries (The RAM)

After Pisces the sun travels through Aries. Aries is the ram. A ram is a young male lamb. Jesus, the son, was certainly the Lamb of God “slain since the foundation of the world.” This is a very true statement indeed since the sun has entered the sign of Pisces since before time began to be kept by mankind.

Just like a young ram, Jesus has to grow in maturity and experience to become the full Lamb of God. You should remember all the trials Jesus had to endure. He wasn’t born ready. He had to complete trials. For example, in one instance of the Gospel stories Jesus had to be tempted of the devil (ego) for forty days in the wilderness.

The sign of Aries is from later March to April. The sun’s strength is in a transition period here as it becomes bright and powerful; it gives its light in ever increasing increments until it reaches the summer solstice. Near the beginning of his ministry Jesus can be seen as battling with his own ego and finally overcoming it.

We are all young Christ in potential. Just like Jesus, we cannot earn the title of Christ consciousness until we have truly sacrificed the ego.

Taurus (The Bull)

The sign of Taurus is represented by a bull. Symbolically, the bull represents the payment of sin for “salvation.” As the sun reaches this house in late April and into late May, it is time to plow the grain fields to get everything ready for planting. The sun yields its strength now, and food that is provided to us by the sun becomes the nourishment our bodies need for salvation. Spiritually, Jesus, or the egoless true self in all of us is the salvation from this world. At this time in his ministry Jesus becomes the salvation of all humanity. Indeed, humanity is saved through Christ consciousness.

Gemini (The Twins)

Gemini is represented by twins. The sun enters Gemini in Late May and crosses the sign through Latter June. At this time of the year the sun is at its solar peak. Its strength “doubles” to yield a plentiful crop. Gemini is a sign of the power of the sun’s rays which Lord over darkness since the summer solstice is the longest day of the year. What do we find Jesus doing in his ministry at this time? At one point in Matthew he and his disciples are in a field plucking the ears of corn and eating them. But the Pharisees saw this act and became angry because Jesus and his disciples did this on the Sabbath Day. Jesus, like the sun, has authority over the all else for he tells them:

“That in this place is one greater than the temple (body)…for the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.” (Matthew 12:6-8).

There is double meaning here. The true self truly is greater than the body, and when we come to a place where we can sacrifice the ego, we have no need of obeying Sabbath days anymore. This is a law for the ego because the ego needs laws to stay in check, but one who operates from Christ consciousness needs no law, for his is above the law. This is why Christ himself is said to fulfill the law.

As an interesting side note, I want to point you to another direct mention of Gemini in the Book of Acts. The twins in Gemini are represented by the brightest stars in Gemini called “Cator” and “Pollux.” Consider the scripture below:

“And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had entered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.” (Acts 28:11). “Pollux” means “sons of Jupiter.” Here we have the Acts author clearly showing that the Biblical authors had knowledge of the Zodiac!

Cancer (The Crab)

Cancer is represented by a crab walking backwards. This makes sense since the sun is now waning. It dips lower and lower in the sky since this takes place just after the summer solstice. Cancer is also another water sign. Here Jesus warns us about the Parable of Jonah where the Pharisees ask for a sign:

“For as Jonas (Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40)

Just as the sun starts to metaphorically die after the Summer solstice, Jesus predicts his own death as being three days and nights in the heart of the earth. Consider that the sun metaphorically dies for three days at the winter solstice before being born again on December 25 as the days once again begin to grow longer.

We must all go through this cycle in life to birth the Christ within us.

Leo (The Lion)

Leo is represented by the sign of a lion. We all know that a lion has always been a royal symbol for majesty and great power. Jesus, as the son, has gone all the way from being the ram (young lamb) in Aries to the mighty lion of Judah in Leo. Consider the scripture below:

“And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”  (Revelations 5:5)

In a much earlier article on this blog I wrote an article entitled, Why God is Light and Love, about the tribe of Judah being associated with light. Judah faces east and represents the sun itself. Jesus, as the personification of the son, comes from Judah and is considered the majestic lion birthed from this tribe.

In Leo also comes another powerful aspect and conclusion of all the zodiacal signs; in the heart of the constellation of Leo is the star Regulus, which ruled the heavens. The sun itself is seen to rule the four seasons. The son, or Christ within us, is also meant to rule the personalities and ego in us through the seasons of our lives.

What does this knowledge mean to us?

As I have said before, Jesus’ life as it is related to the sun’s travels through the zodiac is a depiction of the soul’s birth and death on the physical plane as it relates to attaining Christ consciousness. It is the plan of salvation for every human being should they choose to undertake the journey of crucifying their ego.

We must also remember that the Gospel stories depict Jesus’ ministry as taking place in one year. The sun travels through the 12 houses of the Zodiac in one year. Coincidence? I think not. Remember, even Enoch, another Christ figure and type was taken by God at 365 years old. 365 days represents the completion of the solar year.

With all the Zodiacal signs complete we can see a rebirth of the physical man into a spiritual man. This is the goal for anyone undertaking the advanced spiritual journey. I wish you the best as you undertake your own!

If you enjoyed this article, please spread it around! And don’t hesitate to share your own insights about Christ, the sun, and the zodiac.

Blessings!

This excerpt is the only one I have time to comment on. I wish I could go through it all with you but I just don’t have time. Your comment that the author clearly had knowledge of the zodiac is moot. Yes, the apostles knew what the zodiac was, they also knew that it is a pagan tool which they were not to defile themselves with. All the author is pointing out here is that the logo of the shipping company that carried Paul to Rome was Castor and Pollux. The only thing that this “clearly shows” is that pagan myths of “gods” were still widely accepted and depicted at the time that Paul sailed to Rome! You’re trying to glean *more* from the scriptures than are there or are meant to be depicted and it’s dangerous. The Bible was not meant to be hard to understand and it doesn’t have “hidden” meaning as you so perpetually claim. God wants His flock to understand him, and he makes it easy to do so. Trying to insert pagan meaning into the Word of Truth is absolutely offensive. I’ll leave you with this passage of scripture:

” Deu 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you any one that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or
that useth divination, or an observer of times (meaning: ASTROLOGY & ZODIAC!!!), or an
enchanter, or a witch, {11} Or a charmer, or a consulter with
familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. {12} For all
that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD. ”

What you are doing here is wrong. You’re leading others astray. This is extremely disturbing to me and many other true followers of Yeshua Messiah. I will pray for you that you acquire true discernment through true repentance and acceptance of Yeshua Messiah.

You asked what salvation is? It’s Yeshua. Not the occult and not the occult mixed in with Yeshua. Blasphemy. Absolute blasphemy.

Dez,

You said Salvation was Yeshua. Who or what is that? It’s easy to just say, Yeshua, don’t you think? You’re throwing out a lot of scriptures and idesa and verbal attacks, but you really don’t explain yourself very well except to say how wrong I am.

No offense taken. Blessings.

Hi Joshua!

I don’t know if you’ll reply to this, as this beforehand conversation was quite some time ago, but firstly, I’d like to thank you for taking the time out to write out this blog. I only recently found it and am very interested in the findings you have, as they resonate with me highly. I’m interested in what the scripture that “Dez” quoted means?

” Deu 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you any one that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or
that useth divination, or an observer of times (meaning: ASTROLOGY & ZODIAC!!!), or an
enchanter, or a witch, {11} Or a charmer, or a consulter with
familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. {12} For all
that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD. ”

The meaning seems to be quite clear, but perhaps you could shed some light unto it, as I am totally new to esoteric interpretation.

Thank you!

The true self can only be known by going within. By divining and following the stars, etc., outward sources, is forgoing spirituality for a religious experience. It is fulfilling the ego, not the self.

It has always been my understanding that King James had a strong personal fear of witches and added that himself, as he mistranslated and added and subtracted things all over the book. To be fair though, I’ve never researched that particular passage in any other versions. But God didn’t exactly smite Solomon for having consultations with the witch in the cave, so I dunno what would have changed His mind.

Hello Joshua,

Jesus is also connected to the symbol of a fish in another way. In Greek he is called:

Iesos CHristos THeou (h)Uios Soter, which means Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour, and the capitals together read ICHTHUS, which means fish.

The u is counted as the first character of the word huios as the h is written as a comma in the Greek alphabet (or anyway it was when I was in school half a century ago).

This explanation of his connection to a fish is more commonly known in christian circles than the astrological one.

Anny,

I always wondered what the fish symbol meant. I was meaning to look into it at some point, but never got around to it. Thank you for elaborating!

I think it is important to be objective when interacting with something new; something contrary to what a person might believe; since when we aren’t objective we close ourself to even consider anything other than what we do believe. The Lord taught me that!!

When analyzing a work– that doesn’t mean we need to belive it – I take it as an opportunity to use inquiry. Not to judge but to ask questions. And as a result of utilizing the skill of inquiry more awarness might be received, etc. I look at this work as God wanting it to come forth– as stated: for Gods purposes;

By far this is the most fascinating work that I’ve ever embarked upon. I analyze it, consider it, ponder it and pray about it- ask for discernment from the Spirit. The Spirit knows the truth thus as long as I read and ask for discernment and the truth of whats being spoken- then all is well!!
I think there is much enlightenment here to be gotten. And everything does come from God, is through God and to God– if anyone agrees with that then so is what Joshua is putting forth; how God will use it to touch every soul that reads it is Gods business. All things serve Gods purposes!! Even this work.

@ Joshua

Wow- Ive gained so much from reading this!! I meet people of different zodical signs and this is so beneficial in understanding pieces of the puzzle!! And so is the concepts of the conscious and the sub-consciousness.

Questions: Food for thought

“We are all young Christ in potential. Just like Jesus, we cannot earn the title of Christ consciousness until we have truly sacrificed the ego.”

By what means do we crucify the ego and how far are you on the journey?

You stated that Christ/Jesus was egoless then why would he need to scrifice it? Yes he did learn via obedience, but wasn’t his obedience by using and living by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God? I don’t have a picture of Jesus life from age 12 on but it does say at 12 he was in His Fathers house and even at 12 He spoke with authority and the teachers of the law were amazed.
The Bible says he suffered everything that we do except without sinning; so according to the egoless concept that you’re projecting – even though Jesus suffered because the Christ consciousness was already in Him- he didn’t sin– he was egoless; which is an indication that He never had to overcome the ego- He was showing us to overcome everything with the word of God. Which we can only do through the Holy Spirit. Since being able to discern the word requires the Holy Spirit living in a body.

What you have offered here, Joshua beings so much together; everybody needs this knowledge — it’s revelation. I’m not saying that readers should believe that Jesus never literally came, died and resurrected- but there is much knowledge, wisdom and understanding here. And I for one am thankful!!

Thus far what I receive in my spirit from the Spirit is that everything portrayed by Joshua is a portrait of how things really do work — through Christ living in us– as a result of Him dying on the cross, and how Christ living in us through the Holy Spirit — brings forth, the Christ consciousness. And then the sub-consciouness created based on the Christ consciousness within.

You see the Spirit is revealing to my spirit that the Bible is not a book of the past but of the future.
The Old Testiment depicts a picture of the coming of Christ in a latter day and the New Testiment is a book bringing forth the manifestation of what was prophesied- Jesus coming to the earth. That day came- and those that believe receive the Holy Spirit and the things that Joshua speaks of are fulfilled within us through the Holy Spirit.

There is indeed a battle going on in the mind but that battle is put to rest in Christ; there’s nothing we can do to put it to rest- only Christ can and has accomplished that work- and He finished it on the cross.

My last question Joshua: is how can you accomplish all that you have stated in your own strength?
By what means?

This is brilliant and it is obvious that the same spirit is teaching seekers of truth. You of course will be attacked by those who are still just children, but you do well not to lash out at them. Do you think that Thomas (the Twin) has any correlation to the Gemini sign? If so, how so?

Thanks!

Great article on the Zodiac and how it relates to our inner journey through life as we progress spiritually!

This reminded me of a parallel-like article written by a great spiritual teacher whose name is J. Preston Eby. This is the spiritual story told in Revelation chapter 7 of the sealing of the 144,000.

In the OT, the tribes of Israel begin with Reuben. That’s “natural” Israel and begins their journey through this life on this earth. With “spiritual” Israel, our inner journey begins with the tribe of Judah instead of Reuben. The first step is in knowing who Jesus Christ is and what He accomplished for us. We become part of the tribe of Judah because we are “in” Jesus Christ. My belief is that He is in us.

As the names of the tribes progress to Benjamin, we reach the final part of our journey and become “the son of the right hand”, as is the meaning of the name of Benjamin.

J. Preston Eby explains it much better than I am able to. If this link does not open (and this happens at times), it would be well worth the effort to search for “sealing of the 144,000” by J. Preston Eby.

http://www.godfire.net/eby/rev-98.html

As this website tells us so wonderfully, this journey through life is to develop the spiritual life within us. Most of us spend our days trying to change others and make them into the “image” we think they should have. And as we are told in Mt.7:3-5 and Luke 6:41-42, our problems lie within ourselves, and we should work on this before we criticize others.

I believe it’s one of the most difficult lessons in life to learn. But too many of us follow “men” instead of Jesus Christ. And following the spiritual path meant for us is truly a magnificent journey.

Hi Veronica,

This is a tough one, which I really have no study in. But I have always assumed that the scriptures are forbidding giving up your own soul development by placing it into the hands of fate. If we rely on an outside source to guide us, how can we come to know the true self?

the seed that god placed in man(the image of god is spirit, and likeness of god is love), this seed, this image, also called the word or the logos, or the christ, is inside every human. God is a spirit, thus if the image of god was placed into us as genesis says, then the spirit of man is a part of god? The spirit part of god in man is called adam and the soul part of man breathed into man by god is called eve. Eve represents mans free will, emotions, desires. adam the spirit of man cannot and never will do anything against gods will. But, eve, on the other hand proved she/it couldnt be trusted as she gave in to the temptation to know good and evil. the soul, eve was in the transgression, not adam. adam the spirit followed after eve to redeem her because they were spiritually married (so to speak) in the beginning. husband and wife(male and female as one) with no flesh body. NO FLESH BODY! NO ANIMAL SKINS AT THIS TIME!!!!! god placed animal skins on them only after eve(SOUL) desired to know good and evil or duality. So, presto, the spiriut and soul were divided into two physical beings covered in flesh!! now in the physicval realm, earth, and not the spiritual realm, heaven. Keep in mind heaven is when the spirit and soul is working together as one with god(truth and love), and hell is when the soul leads the spirit, and thus is ruled by the carnal nature. Man perceived god now as an angry revengeful, law ordering entity because the soul(eve) was making the decisions. Mans perception of god changed in a twinkling of an eye. God was looked at as a lawgiver after that, and a god of war. So see, you need to change your thinking and know that the real you(the spirit/christ) has never been and can never be separated from gods will. sin means missing the mark and the mark is to be led by the spirit inside you, not by the soul. if adam had not followed eve down here to the earth/flesh/physical realm, then the soul(eve) could not have been redeemed. Eve must be brought under submission, and put in her place!
