This blog post will finally wrap up our conclusion of Jesus, the sun, and the Zodiac. Please read my former three blog post if you haven’t already as they will properly prepare you for this one.
We have already discussed how Jesus’ ministry is a personification of the sun’s travels through 6 of the zodiacal signs. Today we are going to finish with the other 6. Hopefully the story of Jesus will make much more sense when you are through with this last and final post of the series.
Pisces (The Fish)
Shortly after the sun is in Aquarius, it moves into the zodiacal sign of Pisces. Pisces is symbolized by two fish. Thus we would expect to see Jesus’ ministry representing something to do with two fish. This is exactly the case, for shortly after John’s baptism (Aquarius the Water Bearer), Jesus finds two disciples, Simon and Andrew, who are fisherman.
“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers” (Matthew 4:18).
Another interesting point to be made here is the Greek meaning of “Galilee;” Strong’s Concordance states that it means the “heathen circle.” If you remember my first post on the Zodiac and the Bible, I showed you how Job and Psalms mentions scriptures that show God told his story in the stars by the “circle” of the Zodiac.
You should also note that the Pope wears a mitre, which is in the shape of a fish, correlating to Pisces.
Overall Pisces, one of the three water signs, represents purity and self sacrifice. Jesus certainly represents both, and since the sun and Jesus both represent the human soul on its journey to enlightenment, they show us that we are meant to become pure from the defilement of the ego. Self sacrifice, or the act of sacrificing our own egos, is the game here.
If you look at the life of Simon Peter, one of the two fish that Jesus found at the beginning of his ministry, you’ll notice that he is always struggling with the ego. He denies Jesus (the egoless) and Jesus even had to tell him “Get thee behind me, Satan.” Satan is also the ego in us, and Jesus was telling Peter that his ego was trying to block the true self from the expression of love (which the true self is).
Finally, we should also note that the two fish in the sign of Pisces are swimming in opposite directions of one another. Again, the ego is always at odds with the true self. But once the sign is completed by the sun (and Jesus’ ministry), we know the ego can finally be completely sacrificed.
Aries (The RAM)
After Pisces the sun travels through Aries. Aries is the ram. A ram is a young male lamb. Jesus, the son, was certainly the Lamb of God “slain since the foundation of the world.” This is a very true statement indeed since the sun has entered the sign of Pisces since before time began to be kept by mankind.
Just like a young ram, Jesus has to grow in maturity and experience to become the full Lamb of God. You should remember all the trials Jesus had to endure. He wasn’t born ready. He had to complete trials. For example, in one instance of the Gospel stories Jesus had to be tempted of the devil (ego) for forty days in the wilderness.
The sign of Aries is from later March to April. The sun’s strength is in a transition period here as it becomes bright and powerful; it gives its light in ever increasing increments until it reaches the summer solstice. Near the beginning of his ministry Jesus can be seen as battling with his own ego and finally overcoming it.
We are all young Christ in potential. Just like Jesus, we cannot earn the title of Christ consciousness until we have truly sacrificed the ego.
Taurus (The Bull)
The sign of Taurus is represented by a bull. Symbolically, the bull represents the payment of sin for “salvation.” As the sun reaches this house in late April and into late May, it is time to plow the grain fields to get everything ready for planting. The sun yields its strength now, and food that is provided to us by the sun becomes the nourishment our bodies need for salvation. Spiritually, Jesus, or the egoless true self in all of us is the salvation from this world. At this time in his ministry Jesus becomes the salvation of all humanity. Indeed, humanity is saved through Christ consciousness.
Gemini (The Twins)
Gemini is represented by twins. The sun enters Gemini in Late May and crosses the sign through Latter June. At this time of the year the sun is at its solar peak. Its strength “doubles” to yield a plentiful crop. Gemini is a sign of the power of the sun’s rays which Lord over darkness since the summer solstice is the longest day of the year. What do we find Jesus doing in his ministry at this time? At one point in Matthew he and his disciples are in a field plucking the ears of corn and eating them. But the Pharisees saw this act and became angry because Jesus and his disciples did this on the Sabbath Day. Jesus, like the sun, has authority over the all else for he tells them:
“That in this place is one greater than the temple (body)…for the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.” (Matthew 12:6-8).
There is double meaning here. The true self truly is greater than the body, and when we come to a place where we can sacrifice the ego, we have no need of obeying Sabbath days anymore. This is a law for the ego because the ego needs laws to stay in check, but one who operates from Christ consciousness needs no law, for his is above the law. This is why Christ himself is said to fulfill the law.
As an interesting side note, I want to point you to another direct mention of Gemini in the Book of Acts. The twins in Gemini are represented by the brightest stars in Gemini called “Cator” and “Pollux.” Consider the scripture below:
“And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had entered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.” (Acts 28:11). “Pollux” means “sons of Jupiter.” Here we have the Acts author clearly showing that the Biblical authors had knowledge of the Zodiac!
Cancer (The Crab)
Cancer is represented by a crab walking backwards. This makes sense since the sun is now waning. It dips lower and lower in the sky since this takes place just after the summer solstice. Cancer is also another water sign. Here Jesus warns us about the Parable of Jonah where the Pharisees ask for a sign:
“For as Jonas (Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40)
Just as the sun starts to metaphorically die after the Summer solstice, Jesus predicts his own death as being three days and nights in the heart of the earth. Consider that the sun metaphorically dies for three days at the winter solstice before being born again on December 25 as the days once again begin to grow longer.
We must all go through this cycle in life to birth the Christ within us.
Leo (The Lion)
Leo is represented by the sign of a lion. We all know that a lion has always been a royal symbol for majesty and great power. Jesus, as the son, has gone all the way from being the ram (young lamb) in Aries to the mighty lion of Judah in Leo. Consider the scripture below:
“And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” (Revelations 5:5)
In a much earlier article on this blog I wrote an article entitled, Why God is Light and Love, about the tribe of Judah being associated with light. Judah faces east and represents the sun itself. Jesus, as the personification of the son, comes from Judah and is considered the majestic lion birthed from this tribe.
In Leo also comes another powerful aspect and conclusion of all the zodiacal signs; in the heart of the constellation of Leo is the star Regulus, which ruled the heavens. The sun itself is seen to rule the four seasons. The son, or Christ within us, is also meant to rule the personalities and ego in us through the seasons of our lives.
What does this knowledge mean to us?
As I have said before, Jesus’ life as it is related to the sun’s travels through the zodiac is a depiction of the soul’s birth and death on the physical plane as it relates to attaining Christ consciousness. It is the plan of salvation for every human being should they choose to undertake the journey of crucifying their ego.
We must also remember that the Gospel stories depict Jesus’ ministry as taking place in one year. The sun travels through the 12 houses of the Zodiac in one year. Coincidence? I think not. Remember, even Enoch, another Christ figure and type was taken by God at 365 years old. 365 days represents the completion of the solar year.
With all the Zodiacal signs complete we can see a rebirth of the physical man into a spiritual man. This is the goal for anyone undertaking the advanced spiritual journey. I wish you the best as you undertake your own!
