Defining God… at some point, most of us are guilty. What begins as a seemingly noble attempt to answer one of life’s greatest mysteries, usually leads to prejudice, judgement, separation, condemnation, war, and even death. At least, history bears that record. Perhaps this is why so many sages–spanning all the great spiritual traditions of the world–tell us that defining God is an attempt at futility. Their wisdom proclaims that attempting to do so, even by name, places boundaries and limitations to an ineffable source. Thus, any attempt to define God is an act of self-deception. Why? Because defining God with our thoughts and feelings creates God in OUR image. The Old Testament calls this idolatry, which is transgression of the first commandment. The Coming Lord (Christ) Within You!
Today I want to discuss a King James rendition of an interesting scripture from the Old Testament and tie it into other Old Testament and New Testament scriptures which I think you’ll find fascinating.
Continuing from our last blog post, we are exploring the gist of, as Paul said, Christ in you, you’re hope of glory. Remember, we discussed the real reason women are to be silent in the church: it’s every person, not just women as all people are the bridegroom of the Christ, and thus, all humanity is considered “women” here through the allegorical interpretation. The true mystery is that Jesus and Paul, through allegory, were describing Christ and the Church, not literal men and women. Spiritual meat only shines through when we understand the allegorical nature of scripture (Gal. 4:24, Proverbs 1:6, and Psalms 78:2). [Read more…] about The Coming Lord (Christ) Within You!
Judas to Christ-Consciousness—Esoterically
The story of Judas and the 30 pieces of silver has as many literal interpretations as it has characters. And, depending weather we’re literal or esoterically versed, each interpretation resonates validity in its perspective contexts. One version attempts a literal validation of Lazarus, Judas, Mary, Martha and Matthias, and so on, as historical people, while esoteric perception advances the Good News from the practical: ‘Good News’ translated as a ‘Spiritual Revelation’ from within.
Many of these literal characters actually conjure more questions than the story attempts to explain away. The brain is not presented with cognizable detail. Instead, it’s presented with man-made contrivances to the extent that the brain rejects these supposed historical events as non-nonsensical. Failing in this approach, we are encouraged to relate through programming—sound-bites directing us what to see and what to hear. This conditioning, I feel, succeeds only at stifling spiritual growth. Elijah Taken up in the Whirlwind and Chariot of Fire: A Burning Esoteric Interpretation
What really happened to Elijah after God took him in the chariot of fire and the whirlwind? It states that he was taken to heaven, but Jesus said that no man hath ascended to heaven. Is there a better esoteric or metaphysical interpretation here that we can rely on?
With the Bible, always!
A strict literal interpretation creates significant confusion. For example, if Elijah was carried to Heaven, how did he write a letter to King Jehoram after his ascension? Do men write physical letters in heaven? As one skeptic has noted, “Where dead men don’t speak, apparently they can still write.” [Read more…] about Elijah Taken up in the Whirlwind and Chariot of Fire: A Burning Esoteric Interpretation
Highly Recommended Read
I just finished reading an exciting book in the world of Biblical interpretation. It’s a truly comprehensive interpretation that I believe you guys would find a valuable storehouse to your reading shelf. In fact, It’s worth a short blog post all on its own.
The book is entitled, A Metaphysical Interpretation of the Bible, by Dr. Steven Hairfield. It’s quite long, around 800 pages, but such a subject demands an in-depth analysis. Besides providing great esoteric interpretations, the book provides a good historical analysis for how the Bible came to be what it is. [Read more…] about Highly Recommended Read
Meaning of Light and Darkness, Day and Evening in Genesis 1:3-5
Literalists deny it. Materialist are blind to it. And mainstream doctrine unwittingly teaches but a small portion of it. Without a doubt, the beginning of Genesis presents an eosteric statement that echoes throughout every other Biblical story: the consciousness of humankind has dawned. Esoterically Understanding the Holy Trinity through Jesus the Man, and Jesus the God
In this post we are going to demystify the Trinity through the man Jesus, and Jesus Christ the God.
The person of Jesus Christ, as presented through mainstream Christian doctrine, gives to us the greatest paradox of all religions. How can a being be both fully man and fully God at the same time? A God who created the universe is not limited by physical parameters, but man certainly is. How then could Jesus be both limited and not limited, both God and man? Of course this is an impossibility that mainstream Christian doctrine chooses to ignore by simply having faith that it is just true. But does such a blind faith rob the believer of a deep spiritual truth about themselves? I believe it does. This will be a longer post, but when digested in its entirety it should give you some “aha!” moments if you have trouble understanding the nature of the Trinity. Is the Blood Sacrifice of Jesus Really Taught in the Bible as Atonement for Your Sin?
The title of this post may cause some eyebrow raising, but it’s a subject that really needs to be addressed with common sense and esoteric truth. Traditional Christians—some of the kindest and best people on earth whom I call my friends—have been immersed in the doctrines and dogma of man for centuries, and blood sacrifice has been one of those doctrines that has kept them from understanding the deeper truths of the Bible, both in the Old and New Testaments. Please remember, it is not my intention to offend anyone. Ever. But some of what I write here will no doubt ruffle some feathers. Nonetheless, it needs to be said. The Mind of God and Man
I took a break from working on the book today to very briefly elaborate on a portion of Genesis which I thought you guys might find enlightening in the story of Adam and Eve, as well as a sort of part 2 to our last post. This will be a very brief overview.
In our last post, we discussed Paul’s meaning of wives submitting to husbands, and how we interpret it esoterically. Today we’re going to look at the state of Adam before there was Eve, as well as the state of humanity after, and what this may also mean. [Read more…] about The Mind of God and Man
“…so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” – An Esoteric Interpretation
The scripture mentioned in the title of this post has caused much controversy. This can be expected, because millions across the globe see the scripture as literal, even when Paul clearly indicates this is the not the case.
Are we really to assume that wives should be in subjection to their husbands – in everything? You can imagine the problem here.
It’s quite interesting. I have seen many theologians use the padding of other scriptures to bring more common sense to this issue, such as husbands ought to love their wives properly, and when that’s done, it somehow makes a literal interpretation in the title of this post OKAY because now there is the proper balance and understanding of what Paul truly meant. Realization the Image and Likeness of God
Humankind is acknowledged as the crowning jewel of God’s creation: the only creature made in the image and likeness of God-nature. This is by virtue of the fact that man can self-realize individuality whereas animals cannot.
Col 1:19 puts it “For it was by God’s own decision that the Son (Christ within) has in himself the full nature of God”.
This scripture makes it abundantly clear that humankind is indeed made in the image and likeness of God, and, more specifically, expression of image and likeness.
But two vital questions remain. How is the immensity of God’s full nature accommodated physically in humans, and through what mechanisms? [Read more…] about Realization the Image and Likeness of God
Psalm 78 Speaks: The Law is a Parable
If the Old Testament contained a chapter that told you the story of the wilderness journey wasn’t literal, would you believe it? Would you even notice?
I would argue that it all depends; if you were a staunch literalists, you would probably breeze by the verses without a second thought. That’s normal.
Even if you were undecided about the Bible’s literal-historical value, you still might pass them up as inconsequential without a careful reading of the language and context. Let’s review one of the most important texts in the Old Testament to understand how easy it is to miss what the Biblical authors thought so obvious. The Paradox of the Serpent and the Messiah
Today’s topic, the serpent and the messiah, has been addressed on this blog before by Anny, but today I am going to look at it from a few additional angles. I recently had a great discussion about it with a friend. This friend doesn’t agree with esoteric teaching because she is a mainstream Christian, but we greatly respect each other’s views and enjoy a healthy debate from time to time.
